At Harmónia Tai Chi Retreat we wish to offer a wide variety of inner wellness, healthcare and martial arts related activities for our visitors. Our daily schedule is meant to provide the
right amount of training with the right amount of rest.
Because all our visitors come for different reasons and with different personal interests, we leave everyone free to choose what classes they would like to attend. However, we do recommend our visitors to attend the morning Tai Chi class and another optional class of choice to get the most out of the trip to the Harmónia Tai Chi Retreat. Please note that individual coaching sessions can be scheduled during or in between classes.
The practice of Tai Chi revolves around doing a combination of movements that are called a form. Through practicing the form
we work on balance, physical posture, relaxation, learning movements, muscle strength and coordination.
In addition, all movements have martial arts applications which can be practiced with a partner. All visitors of the Harmónia Tai Chi Retreat begin to learn Tai Chi with the Harmónia Tai Chi Retreat basic Tai Chi form. This form is created by Friso Halbertsma, in consultation with his master Guo Xinmin. The form is designed to
embody all the essential aspects of Tai Chi while not being too long or difficult to learn.
It is divided into four different parts which can be learned in around four to five lessons.
After learning the basic form, visitors who are staying for a longer term or come back again can choose from any form they would like to learn. Some options include: Yang style Tai Chi fist forms, Chen Style Tai Chi fist forms, Tai Chi Sword, Tai Chi Fan, Tai Chi ball.
